Known from photographs If you have seen photos of beaches in Turkey, you have most probably seen Olu Deniz. This city has the country’s, well, perhaps even Europe’s, nicest water for bathing but it is relatively unknown for us here in Scandinavia. The resort of Olu Deniz is only a few minutes away by car from Fethiye and here you can find the most astonishing crystal clear lagoon and a beautiful well-photographed greyish-white beach that adorns almost every tourist brochure about Turkey. Add to that the adjoining town of Hisaronu that is packed with bars, nightclubs, shops and restaurants, and you will get a holiday paradise. The beach by Olu Deniz offers a great variety of water sports, here you can for instance paraglide from Baba |
Dag Mountain to the beach below. There are daily boat trips for you to discover the scenic coast. All the winding paths along the slopes offer spectacular views and interesting places to see, including the fascinating “Greek village,” that was evacuated under the Turkish-Greek conflict 1919-1923. This holiday resort suits both families with children as well as those who want to practice water sports combined with sun and swimming. |
