Turkish kebab

Turkey’s very own Kebab
Kebab in Turkey is not the same as what we in England refer to as a kebab.

In Turkey there are several sorts of kebab. Kebab is eaten in all of Turkey, but different regions have their own specialities and for that reason kebab is thought of as the Turkey’s national dish.

You will be able to find kebab in most food stalls on the street corners and it is something that you should definitely try out once you are in Turkey. The cost for a kebab is not at all expensive, it is only about 1.9 to 2.8 GBP

The dish comes in different varieties and can be served as skewers, in a terrine, in a clay pot, or as a plate of kebab together with onion, salad, sauces, French fries, rice, bulgur, or why not mashed potatoes.

Below are some of the most frequently ordinary types:
Doner kebab: Shreds of beef-, chicken or lamb meat compressed (impacted) with the help from grease, this is placed on bread (a kind of pancake bread) together with seasoning, onion and salad, and then rolled to a roll.

Iskender kebab:
Just like the doner kebab, but instead served on a plate, on top of the dish you can add some yogurt and tomato sauce and after sprinkle some dipped bread on top of it.

Adana kebab: Spicy oxen beef on a skewer that they grill and serve with tomato and pepper.

Sis kebab: Rather big pieces of grilled chicken-, oxen beef and lamb on a skewer layered with tomato, pepper, or green pepper.

Patlican kebab: A so-called egg plant kebab. Is just as it sounds; egg plant on a skewer layered with meat that has been grilled.

Sharwarma kebab: Grilled chicken or lamb meat cut in small pieces and served with salad in pita bread.

Adana kebab: Minced meat rolls of veal and lamb that are quite spicy and are grilled.
